YOUR FOOL-PROOF GUIDE FOR
BUYING A MATTRESS
Did you know you spend about a third of your life sleeping? Having the right mattress can make all the difference in the time you spend awake.
FIRM, MEDIUM, OR PLUSH?
Which type of mattress would be best for you and your sleep? Here are some facts that may help you decide. Please keep in mind, though, that each mattress is constructed differently and the comfort level of each mattress will be different for each individual person.
Having the right mattress can make all the difference in the time you spend awake.

THE RIGHT FOUNDATION
Supporting your mattress with the right foundation is just as important as the mattress itself! You can choose between a foundation, a box spring, or an adjustable base.
We highly recommend purchasing the foundation or box spring made specifically to complement your particular mattress to ensure the manufacturer’s warrant is not voided due to insufficient support.

FOUNDATION HEIGHT
Most foundations are available in two different heights. This allows you to decide how tall the bed will be. With a taller mattress, a low-profile foundation can even out the height.

STANDARD
9" HIGH

LOW PROFILE
4.5" - 6" HIGH
ADJUSTABLE BASE OPTIONS
If an adjustable base is your style, you have to decide which features are important to you.

DO YOU NEED A BUNKIE BOARD?
Some mattresses or base options are required to rest on a flat surface with no added flexibility. In this case, a bunkie board is recommended.
WHAT IS IT?
A bunkie board is a flat platform designed to fit between your mattress and bed frame for additional support.

TYPICALLY USED:
Between mattress and slatted platform Between adjustable base and platform bed.
